What we do
Residential and light commercial work across the Columbus metro, all of it performed under a master electrician licence and to current NEC requirements.
Replace an overloaded or obsolete panel with a permitted 200-amp service that supports EV charging, heat pumps, and modern loads.
About Panel UpgradesNew circuits, room additions, and whole-home rewires that retire knob-and-tube and aluminum branch wiring safely.
About Wiring & RewiringCertified Level 2 charger installs with a load calculation first, so your service can actually carry the charger.
About EV ChargersRecessed, under-cabinet, landscape, and fixture work with dimmers that are actually matched to the load.
About LightingHow it works
The same four steps on a $129 diagnostic and a $12,000 rewire. You always know what happens next and what it costs.
A licensed technician inspects the panel, the circuit, and the load in person. No quoting a service upgrade over the phone from a photo.
You get a flat, itemised price in writing, including permit fees. Approve it and the number is locked unless you change the scope.
We pull the permit, do the work to current NEC and local code, protect your floors and walls, and clean up before we leave.
We schedule the municipal inspection, meet the inspector on site, and hand you the signed-off paperwork for your records.
Reviews
Every review below is from a completed, permitted job. Names and cities are shown exactly as the customer left them.
Our 1968 panel was a Federal Pacific and our insurer wanted it gone. Ray walked the house, quoted a 200-amp service in writing, pulled the permit, and had us back on power the same afternoon. The inspector signed off two days later without a single correction.
Two other companies quoted me over the phone. VoltLine actually ran a load calculation, found my service could handle a 60-amp circuit, and installed the Wall Connector on a dedicated run. They also filled out the AEP rebate form and left it with the invoice.
Our kitchen breaker had been tripping for a year. The tech used a thermal camera and found a scorched backstab connection inside a junction box above the ceiling. He showed me the photo, repaired it, and credited the diagnostic fee toward the fix.

FAQ
If your question is not here, call us and ask. We would rather explain it once properly than sell you something you do not need.
Yes. VoltLine Electric is led by a licensed master electrician and holds Ohio Electrical Contractor License OH EL.47291. The company carries general liability and workers compensation insurance, and every technician who enters your home works under that master license. We will show you the license number on the estimate before any work begins.
Yes. In Columbus and every surrounding central Ohio jurisdiction, replacing or upgrading an electrical service panel requires a permit and a municipal inspection. VoltLine Electric pulls the permit, coordinates the utility disconnect and reconnect, schedules the inspection, and gives you the signed-off paperwork. Unpermitted panel work is a common reason home sales fall through and insurance claims get denied.
A Level 2 EV charger installation from VoltLine Electric typically runs $650 to $1,900 installed. The low end is a short run from a panel with spare capacity in an attached garage. The high end involves a long conduit run, an outdoor rated unit, or a subpanel. We run an NEC 220.87 load calculation before quoting, so the price you are given accounts for whether your existing service can actually carry the charger.
Yes. VoltLine Electric answers an emergency line at (614) 555-0199 twenty-four hours a day for burning odors, sparking or smoking outlets, arcing panels, partial power loss, and storm damage to a service mast. If you smell burning or see smoke, shut off the main breaker if it is safe to reach and call the fire department first, then call us.
VoltLine Electric quotes flat, upfront pricing in writing before work starts. You approve the number before a tool comes out of the van, and that number does not change unless you approve a change in scope in writing. Diagnostic visits are $129 and that fee is credited toward any repair we perform on the same visit.
Yes. VoltLine Electric offers financing on approved credit for projects over $1,000, including panel upgrades, whole-home rewires, and standby generators. Terms commonly include a 12-month deferred-interest option and longer fixed-rate plans. Applying takes a few minutes and does not require a commitment to book the work.
Tell us what is going on and we will give you a written, flat price before any work starts. Most quotes are booked the same business day.
