About VoltLine Electric
A small, deliberately unhurried electrical contractor. We would rather do four jobs a day properly than eight jobs a day quickly.
Our story
Started in a garage in Clintonville, still answering the phone
Ray Delgado spent eleven years as a journeyman on commercial jobs before sitting for the Ohio master electrician exam and starting VoltLine Electric in 2009. The company began with one van, one licence, and a rule that has not changed since: nothing gets installed here that we would not install in our own house.
Today we run five vans out of a shop off Dublin-Granville Road and work almost entirely on referrals and repeat customers. We have deliberately not grown into a call-centre operation. When you phone during business hours, someone who has been in a panel that week picks up.
Most of what we do is unglamorous: replacing a fifty-year-old panel that an insurer flagged, tracing a neutral fault behind plaster, putting a charger on a circuit that can actually carry it. The value is in doing it to code, documenting it, and being reachable afterwards.

Safety first, always
What safety-first actually means here
It is an easy phrase to put on a van. These are the specific practices behind it.
We pull the permit, every time
Skipping a permit saves a few days and creates a problem that surfaces at resale or at a claim. We have turned down work from customers who asked us to do a panel unpermitted, and we will tell you plainly when a job needs one.
We find the cause, not the symptom
A breaker that keeps tripping is reporting a fault. Swapping the breaker silences the report without fixing the fault. We trace the circuit, confirm with thermal imaging where the wall is closed, and show you the photograph.
We do not sell what you do not need
Plenty of 100-amp services are perfectly adequate, and plenty of homes can take an EV charger without a service upgrade. We run the load calculation and tell you the answer, including when the answer costs us the bigger job.
Everyone on site works under the licence
No subcontracted crews you have never met. Every technician who enters your home is our employee, background-checked, insured, and working under the master licence on the estimate.
If you smell burning or see smoke, shut off the main breaker if it is safe to reach, get everyone out, and call the fire department first. Then call our 24/7 emergency line on (614) 555-0199 and we will get a technician moving.
Reviews
What central Ohio homeowners say
Every review below is from a completed, permitted job. Names and cities are shown exactly as the customer left them.
Our 1968 panel was a Federal Pacific and our insurer wanted it gone. Ray walked the house, quoted a 200-amp service in writing, pulled the permit, and had us back on power the same afternoon. The inspector signed off two days later without a single correction.
Two other companies quoted me over the phone. VoltLine actually ran a load calculation, found my service could handle a 60-amp circuit, and installed the Wall Connector on a dedicated run. They also filled out the AEP rebate form and left it with the invoice.
Our kitchen breaker had been tripping for a year. The tech used a thermal camera and found a scorched backstab connection inside a junction box above the ceiling. He showed me the photo, repaired it, and credited the diagnostic fee toward the fix.
Whole-home standby with an automatic transfer switch. They sized it off an actual load calculation instead of upselling me, handled the permit and the gas coordination, and load-tested the system before leaving. We lost power in June and never noticed.
Knob-and-tube through the second floor of a 1922 house. I expected demolition. They fished nearly the whole run and only opened four small access points, all patched and ready for paint. Upfront price never moved.
We paid $219 for the pre-purchase inspection and it saved us far more than that at the negotiating table. The report photographed every finding and sorted them into safe, monitor, and repair now. No pressure to book the repairs with them.
